I started my PhD project in 2016. My PhD-project focus on a political struggle about sexuality, intimacy and disability in contemporary Sweden. I start from a tension, or a paradox, within this movement. At one hand, there is an on-going austerity that has had a clear impact on the possibilities for political struggle. At the other hand, many of my research participants talks about “a breakthrough for issues of sexuality and disability the last five years”. In my material, I can see a trend; less and less activists from the disability movement talks about sexuality and intimacy in times of austerity while more and more allied start to deal with issues of sexuality and disability. I use the Crip theorist Robert McRuers (2006) concept discursive climate of tolerance in order to understand this tendency.
I have been course coordinator for the introduction course at our bachelor program for four semesters. I teach on topics such as feminist theories, feminist methodologies, critical masculinity, intersectionality and Crip theory.
