Tidskrift för Genusvetenskap

New editors & first call

From 2022 we at the Department for Gender Studies in Lund have the privilege to take on the responsibility as editors for TGV (Tidskrift för genusvetenskap / “Journal for Gender Studies”). The journal is going through a process of change in several other ways as well: The current editorial group, in Uppsala, are working on the transfer of the journal from printed to digital format, and the funding and ownership structure are in transformation, which probably will mean that the number of issues per year will decrease.

In Lund, we are looking forward to the challenges and possibilities that these changes entail, giving us the opportunity to develop our vision with the journal while working within its tradition of being a space for Swedish gender research and debate. The aim with the editorial work with TGV is to represent – and open up for exchanges within – the field of gender research in Sweden, which is a field that is at the forefront of different feminist critical traditions of thought and research. Central to our vision is to reflect the breadth, originality and the international and transnational character of Swedish gender research and to approach it through a centring of its intersectional methodologies and epistemologies within trans and intersex, queer, crip, postcolonial, decolonial, antiracist, and critical border feminisms. We want to engage feminist legacies of interdisciplinarity and of emancipatory knowledge production in and through social movements and struggles over, among others, justice, representation, liveability, labour, sexuality, welfare, borders, health, pedagogies, land, and abolition in different contexts.
