Gender Studies: Gender and Nation in Europe (7,5 credits)
GNVN06 FALL
The course focuses on the economic, political and cultural changes in gender regimes and conviviality in Europe. It provides students with the opportunity to specialise in theories and analyses of how gender, migration, sexuality and family have become central phenomena in several complex and contradictory ways in the contemporary political development in Europe, focusing on austerity policies and political economics, borders and the social and political processes surrounding border controls, nationalism, and the growing fascist movements. The course will also provide tools to perform post-colonial analysis on the notions of nation and community in a European context.
This course is 7,5 hp and runs every fall semester.
