Gender studies: Feminist Methodologies and Methods (7.5 credits)

This course offers a gender studies analysis of method and methodology as an intellectual framework within the social sciences. This involves to understand and critical reflect on current feminist theories on epistemology, methodology and method within gender studies.

The course aims to provide the student with theoretical and practical knowledge on methods for research design, data collection and data analysis. The course also aims to consolidate the students’ ability to analyse, reflect on and assess the relationship between methods, methodology and feminist and gender research theory of knowledge. Through lectures, seminars and workshops the course explores different methods for research design and data collection in feminist and gender research and locates them in different traditions, fields and epistemological starting points in gender studies and in the socials ciences and the humanities more broadly. 

This course is worth 7.5 credits and runs every spring semester.
