Background
I am currently employed as a PhD candidate at Lund University in the Department of Gender Studies. My academic background encompasses Philosophy and Gender Studies. For my master's thesis, I explored violence by delving into childhood memories of gender non-normative youths. Additionally, for my MPhil thesis, I delved into the realms of storytelling cultures, narrative truths, and fiction in describing gender and sexual subjectivities.

Ongoing Research and Teaching
My PhD project centers on the 'softboy' figure as depicted in a popular web series and a film, specifically within the regional context of Manipur in Northeast India. At the heart of my research is an exploration of how masculinity is being redefined in popular culture. This transformation is partly driven by the global #MeToo movement, which has led to a growing resistance among audiences against toxic masculinity. Additionally, factors like race and regional politics play a key role in influencing how the 'softboy' figure is accepted, allowing it to be easily embraced by audiences within the changing cultural and media landscape.
Before affiliating with Lund University, I worked as a visiting faculty member at the Centre for Undergraduate Studies, The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Guwahati Campus, India. Currently, at Lund University, I have taught courses at both the bachelor's and master's levels, as listed below:
