Background
I hold a B.Sc. and an M.Sc. in social anthropology from University of Copenhagen and wrote my master thesis on the medical age assessment of young asylum seekers in Denmark.
Research Areas
- Adoption and child welfare policies in Denmark
- Reproductive politics and regulation of the family
- Social reproduction theory
Current research and teaching
My dissertation project looks into the politics of forced adoptions as child welfare policy in the Danish welfare state. I will be conducting an ethnographic study of the recent reforms to adoption law in Denmark and its use in Danish municipalities. The project draws on social reproduction theory to explore questions of care, labor and privatization related to changing adoption paradigms.
